約莫 2017 至 2018 年間，學術界針對以臺灣為題的研究能見度逐漸提升，幾位歐美學者提出「臺灣研究的黃金時期」（Golden Age of Taiwan Studies），比如於英國 SOAS 負責 Taiwan Studies program 的 Dafydd Fell 教授，近年撰文、受訪時都曾以此描繪他的所見所思。 這一集，稚涵和安如邀請了幾位近年積極參與 NATSA 年會活動的夥伴們，從各自的學門領域，以及觀察於北美就讀、服務的學校出發，初步嘗試回答：「臺灣研究的黃金時期」是翩然來到？已經過去？或者，尚在等待中？ 特別感謝印第安那大學媒體學院的以霖、加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校東亞研究的立亭、俄亥俄州立大學東亞研究的 Paul Ueda、史丹佛大學歷史系的宜庭、倫敦政經學院性別研究的庭先，以及多倫多大學歷史系的昱翰等多位青年學人。他們為各位聽眾錄製的簡短語音訊息，呈現了初探此一提問的多重切面。...
